As part of a featured artist series, I was asked by Salt Lake City design duo, Design by Diamond to create a shirt design around the concept of "dreaming at your own risk." Design by Diamond, owned by brothers Nicholas and Tony D'Amico, located in the heart of Sugar House in Salt Lake City, Utah, Design by Diamond is collective of creatives who specialize in clothing, photography, typography, film, and other creative ventures.
“Dream at your own risk” is a conflict we face within ourselves. Dreams tell us who to be tomorrow, while reality informs us of who we are today. The straightforward and almost brash message in this piece is exactly the approach we need to take to following our dreams.
At times, the aspiration of realizing our potential is everything. At times, it's imperative to our success and happiness, yet distracting and downright destructive at others. Through exploration and self-awareness we learn to take risks while keeping reality in check, we strike a balance between imagination and possibility, and we become comfortable enough to ask ourselves “why not” without fearing complete failure.
Never stop the pursuit.

In addition to the hero graphic, custom hand-lettered brand labels were made for the inside collar. Partnering with two people who find value in the details yielded exceptional results. I have much gratitude for the folks at Design by Diamond.
